What are three things you can do?
 

  1. Spend the first three days in bed with your baby – skin-to-skin is best.  It helps them “get organized” and it helps you build a good milk supply.
  2. Take three one-hour naps daily.  Research has shown that mamas who are sleep deprived are more likely to experience postpartum depression, and to have a more
  3. Be patient and take your time learning.  It takes a few weeks to learn, and a few months until you feel like an expert.  Before you know it, you will be the breastfeeding ninja helping a new mom overcome struggles as she goes through her learning curve.  It is worth it!!

Wondering how to make breastfeeding work for you once you return to work? Come get your questions answered at this interactive class.  We'll go over types of breastpumps, pumping, and techniques to make sure you get the most out of pumping while you're away from your baby.  We'll also cover things to look for in a caregiver, and information to share with your caregiver about feeding and caring for your breastfed baby.  Classes held from 6:30-8:30PM at the Arizona Breastfeeding Center.
